Collaborative development with international brands | Seamless metal dome installation solution for glass windows
Project Background and Challenges
With increasing market demand for “non-destructive installation” and “fast construction”, our company was invited to collaborate with a world-renowned window treatment brand to develop a dedicated metal fixing that can be directly attached to glass doors or windows for quick installation of roller blinds.
The main challenges of this project include:
- No need to drill holes, no damage to glass or door frame surface
- Fast installation, safe and stable
- Coping with different glass thickness and structure changes
Technical solutions and R&D history
This collaborative project took nearly a year to develop and is a representative example of our in-depth technical collaboration with international brands.
From the initial vague requirements to the final draft, we built the entire mechanical design almost from scratch, investing a considerable amount of time to repeatedly verify the structural performance of the metal dome under different glass thicknesses and installation environments.
During the development process, we experienced:
- Mold design and mass production conditions are repeatedly adjusted to ensure precise and stable forming.
- Combining anti-rust coating and environmental testing to extend product life.
- Multi-stage verification of clamping force and elasticity ensures stability and durability.
Just making a small metal dome that "holds firmly, doesn't damage the glass, and installs quickly" took our team nearly a year and countless efforts. We faced more than just a component; it was a technical challenge that hinged on both the user experience and our international brand reputation.
The resulting metal dome design not only accurately meets the application requirements of "no drilling, detachable, and fast construction", but also received high praise from the brand and was included in its global market mass production plan.
